The axial bell-tower, solid but for the belvedere, as well as the transepts and apsidal sanctuary, and the brick surrounds to the rough plaster finish, distinguish this basilica. By contrast, the interior walls and arcade are of dark face-brick and the main roof trusses are exposed in the white vaulted ceiling.
